Overview
Simple Habit Tracker provides an iOS app for creating, tracking, syncing, and optionally sharing habits. This policy explains what information we process and the choices available to you.
Information We Process
- Account information: your Clerk user identifier, email address, and sign-in method. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we receive Apple's private relay address instead of your personal email address.
- Habit information: habit names, descriptions, schedules, completion history, streak preferences, timezone, and other app settings.
- Sharing information: email addresses you enter when sharing your tracker and records showing who owns or can view a shared tracker.
- Subscription information: Apple processes payments. We may receive purchase and entitlement status needed to provide paid features, but we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Security and service information: our service providers may process IP address, device, browser, and request information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot their services.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
- Store, sync, display, and restore your habits and settings.
- Provide read-only tracker sharing that you explicitly initiate.
- Confirm subscription access and provide account support.
- Protect the app from fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
Service Providers
We use Clerk for authentication and account management, Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store billing, Supabase for database and API infrastructure, and Netlify to host this website. These providers process information only to provide their services and are subject to their own security, retention, and privacy obligations.
Sharing and Sale of Data
We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising or behavioral advertising analytics. Habit data is shared with another user only when you use the app's sharing feature. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users and the service.
Local Storage and Offline Use
The app stores habit information and pending changes on your device so core tracking works offline. When connectivity returns, the app syncs that information with Supabase. Signing out does not by itself delete your account or cloud data.
Retention and Deletion
We retain account and habit information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account from Settings > Privacy & Data > Delete Account and Data. The app first deletes your habit, completion, settings, and sharing records, then deletes your Clerk account. Limited security logs, backups, transaction records, or support correspondence may remain for the period required by law or by a service provider's documented retention process.
Deleting your Simple Habit Tracker account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be canceled separately in your Apple account settings.
Access and Export
You can create a portable JSON export from Settings > Privacy & Data > Export My Data. The export includes your synced account data and a current local snapshot. See the Data Export page for details.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. The in-app export and deletion controls are available to all users. Contact us if you need assistance exercising another applicable right.
Children
Simple Habit Tracker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted network connections, and database row-level security designed to keep each user's data separate. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app or our legal obligations change. We will post the revised date on this page.
